OUR ORGANIZATION & TEAM
Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring is in an exciting time of growth and expansion and is located steps from the northern border of Washington, DC. We are a small, lively group of dedicated nonprofit professionals, and we work closely to ensure operations run smoothly. As a direct service organization, we are very busy, but we also make room for fun and for our lives outside work. In a typical day, the morning is punctuated with friendly greetings from our volunteers coming and going, the kitchen staff regales us with music from diverse genres as joking, laughter, and wonderful smells from today’s meal waft in. The kitchen often brings us lunch right to our desks as alternately focus quietly on our own work or request or provide help to one another into the afternoon. We work hard, and our work is imbued with shared camaraderie.
THIS POSITION
The Community Programs Manager (CPM) is an enthusiastic nonprofit professional who proactively contributes to the day-to-day success, long-term growth, and welcoming culture of Meals on Wheels. The CPM is responsible for or coordinates all aspects of client care, community outreach/communications, and, over time, special projects. The CPM participates as part of the team that ensures daily communications flow and maintains data in our software platforms. The CPM backs up, and is backed up by, the Volunteer Coordinators to ensure smooth operations. The CPM position is part-time at 24 hours/week with potential to move to full time; salaried with full benefits; reports to the Executive Director (ED); and is onsite or hybrid.
